We are here to help you with your business, family and charitable tax law questions. Mr. Brown has had over 25 years experience in working with his clients, advising them of new tax laws, assisting with family wills, and probate issues and aids with business structuring and tax planning. He can provide needed advise with estate palnning concerns and helping individuals resolve income tax and other tax problems. He is capable of complicated tax issues as he has completed additional training to become a certified tax specialist.

Mr. Brown graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Magna Cum Laude and High Honors, in 1979. He received his Law and Master of Business Administration degrees from Brigham Young University in 1983. He was also admitted to the California Bar in 1983. He is a certified specialist in taxation law.

Mr. Brown worked as corporate counsel and then for the tax department of a "Big Six" accounting firm. He is a Certified Public Accountant as well as an Attorney. He has been practicing law in Orange County since 1987. He has spoken and written articles giving tax and estate planning advice.
Areas of Practice Emphasis

General business, Contract and Corporate Law

Forming, liquidating and merging business entities such as corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships; structuring relationships and contracts between entities to reduce taxes and liability; keeping corporate records up-to-date; preparing buy-sell agreements for business succession planning; employment and independent contractor agreements; sale and purchase of business arrangements; and other general business documents and planning. Also includes the tax planning involved in such transactions.

Tax Dispute Resolution

Resolving disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, Tax Assessor's Office, State Board of Equalization, and other tax authorities.

Tax and Estate Planning, and Asset Protection

Counseling and preparation of wills, revocable living trusts, irrevocable insurance trusts, charitable trusts, family limited partnerships, family gifting strategies, and other estate planning and asset protection strategies. Also includes planning to reduce income taxes and probate administration.

Mr. Brown and his wife, Jennifer, have four children. He has served as a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America for many years and is a member of Rotary International for 15 years and has been involved with many charitable projects such as Habitat for Humanity and Project Corazon.
